This is an iconic brand in the knitting world. CORNEL is the signature brand of the brand Bonner of Ireland, founded by the Irish knitter Cornelius Bonner. Bonner of Ireland was established in 1976 based in Donegal Ardara, Ireland. Bonner incorporated new technologies into traditional foundations to create modern knits. He imported the latest knitting machines from Germany and Japan, distinguishing himself from other manufacturers in Donegal who continued to knit traditional knits. He was dedicated to pioneering new technologies. Cornelius, who cherished his hometown Donegal, used Donegal-produced Tweed yarn as a base and incorporated designs inspired by the fishing village of Donegal and the town of Ardara in the mountains.
